The Drop In Coalition is an organization that seeks to empower underserved children by connecting them to the power of nature and the opportunities it provides. The coalition recognizes that every child is born with a natural curiosity and a desire to learn, but many are unable to connect with the people and places that can guide them to their full potential. The Drop In Coalition aims to change this by providing a unique field trip service that combines surfing with science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).

Through the power of STEAM and surfing, the Drop In Coalition aims to help children develop problem-solving skills and gain a deeper understanding of the science of nature. During the first half of the day, children learn about science and math, and during the second half, they learn how to surf. This unique approach allows children to explore the joy of surfing and experience the thrill of STEAM in a whole new way.

Thanks to generous donors, children from underrepresented communities and communities of color can attend these field trips for free. The Drop In Coalition was founded by friends and family of Tushar Khatri, who was tragically killed in 2019 by hateful assailants. The organization was created as a conscious effort to combat hate and provide access to surfing and STEAM in a fresh, fun, and high-value way.

The Drop In Coalition believes that something legendary happens when a young person discovers that learning is fun, creates in unexpected ways, and develops a love of nature. They are committed to providing access to surfing and STEAM education to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity, empowering them to develop creative confidence, amplify collaborative problem-solving skills, and generate positive outcomes in their world. Please consider donating to the Drop In Coalition and helping to make a difference in the lives of underserved children.
